Department correspondence, 1967-1993.

The central correspondence files for the Transportation Department (and before it the Highway Department), consisting primarily of intra-department correspondence but also containing incoming and outgoing letters and memoranda. They were generated by the commissioner, deputy and assistant commissioners, division heads, and various engineers. Files of the design, engineering, and operations personnel include numerous planning and project reports, and some public hearing materials.
